The Krewe du YaYas is an organization of women that volunteer their time and efforts to help make a difference in the crusade against breast cancer. Our mission is to inspire hope and enhance life for those affected by breast cancer through early detection, advocacy, education and support services.
Through our many appearances and support of local festivities, Breast Cancer Awareness month activities and Krewe sponsored fund raising events we have become one of the top fundraising nonprofit organizations in this area.
The frilly and somewhat whimsical costumes of a "YaYa" with the pink hair bring delight and cheer to both the young and old!
The color pink has been chosen as a symbol to honor all mothers, sisters, aunts, friends and strangers; as well as those men that have been touched sometime in their life by this dreaded disease.
The tiaras are a symbol to all women saying yes, you can be Princesses and Queens in your daily lives!
The boas are a symbol to show our spirit of the Carnival and our desire to follow our motto of Living, Laughing, and Loving.
Please enjoy our site and view our events column for upcoming activities and appearances and join us in this quest to make all Aware.
